German surgeon Georg Clemens Perthes (1869 –1927) was a pioneer in x-ray diagnostics, particularly in radiation therapy for skin and breast cancer. From 1910 Perthes was head of the surgical clinic at Tübingen. Perthes had served as an army surgeon with the German military contingent in China during the Boxer Rebellion, 1900-1901, and his war trauma experience was extended during WW! when he joined the military. After the War he took up a surgical appointment in Bonn. |
