Description | In September 1918, Allenby's Infantry broke through the Turkish lines. The cavalry then swept through and got behind the retreating Turkish Amry, pouring out of the Judean Hills and converging on Jenin (the neck of the bottle leading into the Plain of Esdraelon, or Plain of Armageddon). The photograph shows a German motor convoy caught beyond Jenin and bombed by the British Air Force. Also shown is a motor dispatch rider of the Desert Mounted Corps. |
