Description Acts of the town council of Edinburgh:
(1) Stating that "Bessie Abernethie to desist from the making of aquavitae," on pain of a twenty shilling fine, and ordains that the officer of the burgh is to assist with the deacon in the putting of the act to execution.
(2) Forbidding Duncan Hunter of Ballegane, pretender chirurgian, from exercising surgery or barbercraft under penalty of 20 shillings, since he had employed James Hunter, a swordslipper, to apply plasters and salves to persons in the burgh.
