Description Act of the Lord Provost, baillies and Council of Edinburgh in favour of the deacon and brethren of the chirurgians against
James Hardie, indweller in the Canongait, ordaining that he pay the fine of £10 Scots money imposed by the chirurgians for contravening the terms of his bond with them, in which he had promised that"he would not use nor practise na poynt of barbercraft or chirurgery within the libertie of the said burgh of Edinburgh," within six days under pain of being put to the horn, and "escheit… all his movabill guids and geir to our use for his contemption." (12 August, 1615).
