Description | Complaint "against John Hammilton, apothecar, and William Jaksone, his servand, for exerceing some poyntis of chirurgie (as diverse others persons doe) to their great hurt and prejudice and against severall acts of Parliament and Counsell in the contrair," and demanding that the offenders be fined £20 Scots. A further Act was issued the same day discharging all surgeons who are not freemen of the burgh from "using or exerceing any cuire, operationn or application chirurgicall" upon the penalty of £20 fine. (27 June 1655). |
