Description | Proposals of the committee appointed by the Council of Edinburgh to consider the difference between the surgeons and the simple apothecaries. They recommend "the appothecaries shall be persewed before the councill of Edinburgh and give ther oath befor them, and in order therto the appothecaries is to be wairned twenty four hours before the dyet of compeirance which wairning is to be in writ and are to contain the particulars which they are to be sworn upon befor the councill… if the council of Edinburgh find that the Chirurgeons are calumnous in persewing the appothecaries on oath that then they will impose such fynes upon the persewer as they shall sie caus…" (15 December 1681) |
