Description Act of Town Council anent the refusal of the apothecaries to appear before them "to the effect that they might know if they wold not adhear to those overtours" [of the committee seeking to settle the matter of difference between the apothecaries and the surgeons.] "Therfor the council declaires they will countenance the said chirurgians and chirurgian apothecars By appoynting the toun's assessors and ther agent to assist them upon ther owne charges And further in respect the saids appothecars will not aquiess in and rest satisfied with the overtoures proposed to them and contained in the Comittie's report the last councill day wherby the said Comittie has taken great pains to aggrie both pairties Doo therfor declair that there lyes noo obligation upon the Chirurgians nor Chirurgion appothecars to fulfill … these overtours… in any poynt head or claus therof But that the Chirurgions rights shall stand in statu quo as if the saids overtoures had never bein maid or proposed."
