Description | Protesting against the usurpation by the Lords of Session of John Baillie and James McMath as visitors of the simple apothecaries, who had been appointed by the town council and their [Lords of Session] subsequent nomination of Hugh Neilsone as visitor to the calling; seeking therefore the reappointment of John Baillie and James McMath and declaring their support firmly in favour of the town council for the nomination of the visitor to be made by them rather than the Lords of Session, as "it is much better for the publick good." |
