Description | Bond in which Wood, in return for being pardoned by the calling for cutting the hair of the boys in Heriot's Hospital as an unfreeman, promises the Incorporation that he shall at the first ordinary meeting of the calling "confess and acknowledge my said offence and crave their pardon," that he shall not give offence "in word or deed directlie or indirectlie towards any member of the said Incorporation," and that he shall bind himself to maintain and defend the rights, privileges, liberties, acts and statues of the calling. Transgression of any of these provisions would result in a penalty of £40 Scots money. |
