Description ..."She is not what I call a "good traveller", feels sick and gets dead tired and she doesn't sleep well. In one comfortable wagon ride when I slept like a log she hardly slept at all...I also [illeg] Mrs Haverfield and she is coming out with us paying her own expenses. She was simply bent on coming and bombarded me with telegrams. So I saw a friend of hers who said she was a perfect [illeg] but with an awfully uncertain temper. So I thought "No". However I saw her and I liked her and I thought there would be no harm in seeing what she really is. So she is coming on the understanding that the Committee know nothing about it & haven't..." (28 April, 1915).
