Description |
Act against James Ralstoune barber in the Canongate, declaring that Ralstoune had "done wronge and contrare to his oath and act of admission" by exercising the art of barbery within the city of Edinburgh, and had also used severall poynts of the chirurgians by drawing of blood, giving of salivations by pills and application of oyntments" and ordaining that Ralstone must "containe and restrict himself within the bounds and limits of his said oath and act of admission…and shall give no instant offence to the said incorporation of the Chirurgians in any tyme comeing". He is permitted to practise the barber craft only within the confines of the Canongate and is ordered to appear before the Incorporation of Chirurgians and publicly crave their pardon and forgiveness. Also contains related Instruments ordaining that Ralstone pays £40 to the Chirurgians "for his liberation". (1668-1669).
