Description | Petition to the Lord Provost, baillies and deacons of craft, and council of Edinburgh of David Pringle, requesting that he be excused from any further punishment regarding his employing an unfreeman, William Wood, to cut the hair of the boys of the hospital, and that they should consider before making further judgement on the case, "the state of the said hospital, the [simpleness] of the fault, the punishment (ie. imprisonment) suffered by the said William Wood, and your petitioner's acknowledgment never to doe likewise in tyme coming." |
