Description A refugee convalescent hospital was set up in Ajaccio, on the island of Corsica in December 1915 to help displaced Serbian women and children, and headed by Dr. Mary Blair. The main hospital was established inside a two-storeyed building of Villia Miot. Several members of the Girton & Newnham Unit transferred to the Corsican Unit (also known as the Manchester and District Unit).
