Description | Obstetric forceps designed by Dr James Cappie (1829–1899). Cappie was a doctor who studied and practiced in Edinburgh in the 19th Century. In his obituary it was written ‘In the department of Midwifery he was specifically skilful, and his forceps with bayonet joint is well known in the profession’. |
