Description | Petition of David Pringle, barber chirurgian of Heriot's Hospital, to the Lord Provost, baillies, deacons of crafts and council of Edinburgh. States that in accordance with the penalties imposed upon him for his employing an unfreeman to cut the hair of the boys of Heriot's Hospital, he shall not attend any of the meetings of the calling of Chirurgians of Edinburgh, he shall not meet, sit, or vote with them, he shall not be responsible for the booking of apprentices or servants, but shall conform to his act of admission, and requests that the calling should restore his privileges, liberties and rights, as "they should think fitt." (18 August 1671). |
