Location Royaumont, France
Description Patients arrived from Creil, the clearing station where wounded soldiers were brought by rail from the Reims-Soissons-Noyon regions of the Western Front, and a twelve mile and four-hour journey of bad roads to Royaumont (initially the French military authorities transported patients to Royaumont, however the women themselves took over this task relatively quickly in 1915). Patients normally arrived within 48 hours of being wounded.
