Description | Mrs Harley served as administrator with the Scottish Women's Hospitals at Royaumont and then Troyes in 1915. In 1916 she headed a Transport Column (independent ambulance unit) in Macedonia, collecting front-line Serbian casualties to take to Scottish Women's Hospitals for treatment. She was killed by shell-fire in 1917 and was buried in Salonkia (for images relating to her funeral see the photograph album entitled 'Scottish Women's Hospitals 'American Unit' in Thessaloniki (Salonika), 1917'. |
